BEATIFICATION OF MOTHER TERESA
”COME, BE MY LIGHT.”
On Sunday, 19 October 2003, His Holiness John Paul II will proclaim Mother Teresa of Calcutta, “Blessed.” On this day, in the Year of the Rosary, the Church also celebrates the 25th Anniversary of the Holy Father’s Pontificate, as well as World Mission Sunday. The call of Jesus to Mother Teresa in 1946, “Come, be My light, ” will resound in St. Peter’s Square, as we too are invited to radiate the light of Christ in the darkness of human poverty and pain.

“Holiness is not the luxury of the few, it is a simple duty for each one of us.” (Mother Teresa). “Dear Jesus …stay with me, and then I shall begin to shine as you shine, so to shine as to be a light to others. The light, O Jesus, will be all from you.” (Daily Prayer of Mother Teresa by Cardinal Newman)
